    DESCRIPTION
Detroit Diesel GM 4-71 with hydraulic governor and oil bath air breather. This is a good running take out off  a generator on a tug boat. It was replaced with the Series 50 engine as an  experiment on fuel conservation project. It appears that the newer engine isn't doing as well at they expected or wanted and it turned out to be a waste of money and time to change out.  This engine runs  and can be used but to make it a new engine the liners pistons, rods, sleeves and barings can be changed out and presto you have  a new engine and the cost is less than 200 dollars a hole, 4 holes you see $800.00 cost for parts .
